The Role

Riedel Communications Americas is seeking an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager to oversee all regional operational activities — including Order Management, Logistics, Purchasing, and general office operations.

Reporting directly to the President, Americas, this individual will lead a team of six (three in Order Management and three in Logistics) responsible for accurate order processing, inventory coordination, financial and operational controls, and both domestic and international shipments. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and problem-solver with solid knowledge of operational finance, supply chain fundamentals, and international trade — someone who can navigate complexity, support strategic planning, and continuously improve processes while maintaining smooth, compliant day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Order Management and Logistics teams, ensuring accountability, clarity, and operational excellence.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative culture that reflects Riedel’s values of innovation, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Represent Riedel Communications Americas in cross-functional projects and global initiatives, acting as the liaison between regional operations and worldwide leadership.

Operational Execution

  • Oversee the full order lifecycle — from order entry and validation through delivery, invoicing, and documentation.
  • Manage all aspects of logistics, including domestic and international shipments, freight forwarding, and carrier coordination.
  • Oversee purchasing and vendor relationships, including freight partners, suppliers, and operational service providers.
  • Maintain smooth daily office operations and effective communication between Sales, Service, Finance, and HQ teams.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying bottlenecks, implementing solutions, and driving operational efficiency.

Financial & Strategic Responsibilities

  • Assist Finance and Controlling teams with purchase order management, basic cost analysis, invoice approvals, budget inputs, and reconciliation of expenses.
  • Develop, track, and report on KPIs for the Operations team to align performance with organizational goals.
  • Actively contribute to strategic planning, annual budgeting cycles, and long-term capacity planning for the Operations department.

Trade, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with applicable U.S. and international regulations, including Customs, import/export rules, and documentation accuracy.
  • Apply working knowledge of tariff classifications, Incoterms, HS codes, and valuation requirements.
  • Monitor changes in trade regulations and provide proactive guidance to internal teams when relevant.
  • Coordinate with Riedel HQ in Germany on production schedules, inventory allocations, and export documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements across operational areas.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or order management — ideally within a technology, manufacturing, or broadcast-related company.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role managing cross-functional operational teams.
  • Working knowledge of operational finance, budgeting processes, and basic financial controls.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain logistics, including international shipping and freight coordination.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Navision, SAP strongly preferred).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills; comfortable working with global teams across time zones.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and collaboration platforms.
  • Hands-on, pragmatic, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
