RIEDEL Communications is the leading provider of live production tools in the media, sports and entertainment sectors. To cover our customers' needs holistically, we are divided into three business units: Product Division, Managed Technology & Riedel Networks. 

The Presales Engineering team is part of the Product Division, which designs, manufactures and distributes pioneering real-time networks for video, audio and communications. Its products are used worldwide for broadcast, pro-audio, events, sports, theatre and security applications worldwide.

The Presales Engineering team is customer facing and manages presales tasks in coordination with the Sales team and end customer, drafts system designs with bill of materials, provides market-aware technical, and engineering guidance to complete systems designs and sales proposals. 

Your role as the Technical Presales Manager is to lead and manage this team.  You will take on responsibility for the team, their performance and successful outcomes related to the Presales functions in Product Division.  This is a collaborative role with multiple internal and external stakeholders where team members also provide market feedback with on-the-ground experience as a customer-facing technical sales expert.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

·    Lead, manage, coordinate, and support efforts of the Presales team related to high-visibility projects throughout the sales and post-sale lifecycle. Ensuring projects are successfully delivered as practical and sustainable solutions
·    Provide inspiring leadership which cultivates a professional workplace environment that promotes inclusiveness, fosters collaboration, leverages diversity, and supports open and transparent communication with an emphasis on talent management to attract, develop, and retain top talent
·    Manage presales, assignments, tasks and projects in coordination with the Sales teams to gather customer requirements and functional specifications to create system designs and proposals addressing customer needs 
·    Manage and coordinate demo inventory and related processes, organizing the delivery of product demonstrations, proof of concepts (POC’s), and presentations of products and solutions onsite or online  
·    Directly consult with customers, system integrators, consultants, and Riedel staff to design systems that meet and exceed client requirements both technologically and commercially, providing elaborate written technical proposals, system designs, SOWs, and drawings
·    Manage and coordinate technical responses to RFP/RFI tenders   
·    Represent the company at customer-facing and industry events, such as events, tradeshows, and panels, managing the installation, configuration and testing of Riedel portfolio products and 3rd party products  
·    Identify opportunities to expand the customer solution, as well as capturing new customer requirements to expand the feature set.
·    Assist the Professional Services team and our Customers in project implementation, capturing knowledge learned, driving new business opportunities, and capturing customer requirements to improve products and solutions 
·    Proactively educate clients and business partners to enhance their product and solutions knowledge, technical acumen, and technical sales skills
·    Act as market and industry aware collaborator providing information on competition and market trends, providing detailed feedback to the Product Expert, Product Management, and Business Development teams

·    Lead or contribute to initiatives focused on KCS (Knowledge-Centered Service) adoption and refinement within the organization 
·    Champion KCS principles, educating and coaching support staff on effective knowledge creation and maintenance
·    Develop and maintain knowledge base articles, user documentation, and guides to support products and services
·    Maintain up-to-date information and documentation on sharing platforms and in business tools.
·    Perform other related duties as required.  

THAT'S YOU

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, SW/EE engineering, computer science, or related field
Professional record / Expertise:
•    3+ years people management experience
•    5+ years of combined sales, sales engineering, presales experience
•    Record of achievement and technical solution expertise in a comparable technical sales role
•    Strong understanding of the Broadcast / Media technology market 
•    Knowledge and experience with both development and CRM tools and software (Salesforce, Atlassian Jira/Confluence preferred)
•    Knowledge of communication, digital audio technologies and standards (AES3, AES67, ST 2110, NMOS, PTP)
•    Knowledge of video technologies and standards (SDI, ST 2110, ST 2022-7, NMOS, PTP)  
•    Knowledge of IP technologies and standards (VM, TCP, UDP, IGMP, VLAN, PTP, with Cisco, Arista, or NETGEAR certification preferred)

•    Knowledge of cloud-based media streaming technologies (RTMP, SRT, JPEG-XS, MXF, etc) and knowledge of public cloud provider technologies and infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, Google
•    Technical and operational knowledge of live production equipment (software production switchers, instant replay, video review, etc.)  
•    Knowledge of fiber optic systems and RF systems
•    Proficient with CAD design (AutoCad, Visio etc…)
•    Excellent communication & presentation skills, with strong knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel 
•    Attention to detail and a strong work ethic
•    Understanding of knowledge management principles and methodologies
•    Proficiency with Learning Management Systems, Knowledge Base software, and/or CRM platforms preferred.
•    KCS v6 Practices certification highly desirable.
•    Proven ability to create clear, concise, and engaging content for diverse audiences.
•    Mobility and willingness to travel – lives within reachable proximity of a major airport (willing to travel approximately 50% of the time)  
Language Skills:
•    English (fluent written and spoken)
•    Other languages (e.g. Spanish, French, German is a Plus)
