Riedel Communications, founded in 1987, designs, manufactures and distributes innovative real-time networks for video, audio and communications. Our products are used for broadcast, pro-audio, event, sports, theatre and security applications worldwide. Riedel Australia began in 2007 and over the last 12 years, has become the leading provider of communications solutions to the broadcast and events industries. For this position, we are looking for a skilled technical salesperson with a proven track record and a burning desire to make ‘a difference’ in a fast-developing market. A focus on customer relationship management for existing and new accounts is vital. This role requires someone who can work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines and budget results.

The position can be based in our Sydney office, or remotely in Melbourne. Domestic and international travel will be required. You will report directly to the GM of Australia & New Zealand.


  • You will be responsible for the sales of the RIEDEL portfolio to customers in the Australian and New Zealand markets, as well as aiding in the development of new verticals for the business.
  • You’ll act as the relationship owner for your customers and will be backed by our team of technicians and system consultants to provide comprehensive technical support as well as system consulting and design.
  • You will generate new business by managing and developing current channels (broadcast, entertainment, venue and corporate accounts) and new clients in related segments.
  • You will be responsible for the execution and achievement of a sales plan including customer acquisitions, generating offers, product presentations, contract negotiations and closing.


  • Personality is vital – we need someone who can help our clients navigate their businesses into the future of video and communications technology. Someone who can take the longer-term consultative approach.
  • 3+ years of proven sales experience in a relevant market field, ideally in the broadcast and entertainment market OR 3+ years proven senior engineering or production operation experience in either Broadcast or Entertainment
  • Experience in developing new markets/verticals would be highly regarded.
  • Experience in responding to formal tender processes would be highly regarded.
  • Broad knowledge of video and/or audio technology.
  • Active team player and communicator who is self-confident and results-driven.
  • Ability to travel throughout the dedicated sales territories
  • Must be able to travel internationally, mainly to NZ, Europe and USA. This role will carry a travel requirement of around 25%
  • Secondary languages, notably German or Asian languages, are desirable, but not essential.
