YOUR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

To achieve this, our team of test and support engineers challenge the products not only against specification but also bring in user experience and use cases from the field.
As a Test and Support Specialist you will be responsible for user acceptance testing of new hard- and software mainly for but not limited to our Intercom products used in broadcast and live applications.
In the role of a subject matter specialist, you ensure product quality and support readiness by transferring your first-hand knowledge into the global support teams.
As a member of the global Service & Support team, you also maintain a thorough contact with customers and gather market needs.
Your tasks will include the following:
- You develop, define and execute of Release test cases and documentation in appropriate tools (e.g. Jira X-Ray)
- You document bugs in Jira and support our development teams with information
- You align explorative tests with the System Testing team and meet the needs of Pre-and After Sales Support, R&D and Product management
- You test new hard- and firmware for broadcast and live event applications prior to market release
- You learn new technologies
- You prepare materials and conduct internal trainings to ensure support readiness of the Support teams
- You provide support to external and internal customers (contribute to customer support as a second level expert / third level support)
- You go on occasional business trips
YOUR PROFILE
- Successfully completed technical college studies in electrical, communications, computer science or audio engineering
- Level A-B, e.g. NOC 2283
- ISTQB® certification is a plus but can be obtained at Riedel as well
- 2+ years of proven experience in a relevant market field, ideally in the (outside-) broadcast and entertainment market as an audio engineer, Intercom engineer or similar
- Knowledge of baseband and IP-audio technology (analogue, AES3, MADI, AES67, VoIP) and IP network technology (VLAN, IGMP, ptp, switches…)
- Ideally knowledge of fiber optic systems
- Ideally practical experience in testing of new Hard- and Software
- Attitude of ‘test-to-break’ with a good balance of detail orientation and keeping business targets in focus
- Passion to educate others and share knowledge
- Precise work style with high self-pretention on quality
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-organized and capable to self-educate on new technologies
- Natural authority, sociable and open personality
- Team player that fits the personality and basic setting of an international, medium-sized company
- Loyalty, reliability, and personal integrity
- Ability to cross-domain thinking and willingness to collaborate closely with other company functions using excellent communication skills
- Fluent English skills, any additional language is a plus
