As a result of continued growth, Riedel Communications is looking to hire a talented and motivated candidate to join and contribute to our North America Service & Support Team.

This is an on-site position and the candidate will be based either in our Laval offices (QC, Canada).

Your responsibilities

As a Support Specialist for Testing & Wrecking you will be responsible for user acceptance testing of new hard- and software for broadcast and live applications.

In the role of a subject matter specialist for our IP-centric video network products, you ensure product quality and support readiness of the support team.

As a member of the global Service & Support team, you also maintain a thorough  contact with customers and gather market needs.

Your tasks will include the following:

  • Develop, define and execute test cases and documentation on appropriate tools (e.g. Jira X-Ray).
  • Align explorative tests with the System Testing team and meet the needs of R&D, Product management and Pre-and After Sales Support.
  • Test new hard- and firmware for broadcast and live event applications prior to market release.
  • Prepare materials and conduct internal training to ensure support readiness of the Support Teams.
  • Provide support to external and internal customers (contribute to the customer hotline as a second level / third level expert support).
  • Occasional business trips.

Your professional record & expertise

Education

  • You would have ideally successfully completed university studies such as a Bachelor’s Degree  in electrical engineering, communications engineering or computer science.

Professional record

  • 2+ years of proven experience in a relevant market field, ideally in the (outside-) broadcast and entertainment market

Expertise

  • Knowledge of baseband and IP-video technology (SDI, ST 2110, ST 2022-6, J2K, JPEGXS…) and IP network technology (VLAN, IGMP, ptp,…)
  • Ideally knowledge of fiber optic systems
  • Ideally experience in testing of new Hard- and Software
